Sickle cell is the commonest human blood genetic disorder in the world, with over 500,000 new babies born annually. It is common mostly among people of Black Africa disease .
June 19th of each year was established as world Sickle cell Day by the United nations. The declaration of this global day awareness.
Sickle cell disease as a public health problem. A World day of sickle cell disease was to be devoted to awareness campaigns at national and international levels.UN
Secretary General Ban Ki moon urged governments, civil society and all other partners
to do their part to improve the quality of life of people with sickle cell anemia and enable them to live full, productive lives sickle cell disease affects 1in West Africa.
